Lamborghini - a name that stands for breathtaking aesthetics and fascinating technology far beyond the automotive world.
Drees & Sommer provided significant support for the construction of the new factory and administration buildings in Italy.
Automobili Lamborghini SpA expanded its historic location in SantʼAgata Bolognese for the production of a new model, the SUV Urus. The necessary construction measures on the factory premises included the construction of a new assembly hall, a finish hall, a paint shop, a logistics hall, an office building as well as the conversion and extension of the pilot hall. In addition, conversions were carried out in the existing plant without interrupting production. In addition to building up a new model series, the customer's goal was also to increase its research and development capacities.
In July 2015, the automotive experts from Drees & Sommer were awarded the project management contract for the extensive project. One of the challenges for the interdisciplinary team of automotive and on-site specialists was to coordinate the complex interfaces between construction infrastructures and plant technology and to implement existing Audi and VW standards. The realisation of the individual projects during ongoing production was almost part of day-to-day business. This, however, required an overall concept for the construction sites and individual measures. In the course of the project, Drees & Sommer took on further tasks. These include, for example, the design of the plant layout, the 3D collision checks or the relocation management of the logistics areas.
The first pre-series release vehicle (VFF) of the new SUV rolled off the production line on schedule in mid-2017, after which the factory was successively ramped up until production of the production vehicle started in the first half of 2018. The plant expansion was inaugurated at the end of 2017 in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister.
